Today's Beautiful Thing is Michele's 3 year Anniversary. It's hard to believe, but it has been 3 years since her surgery. Today she is a 3 year survivor! Michele, Pat & I celebrated with lunch. And a brownie sundae--of course!

On a Roll!

Today's Beautiful Thing is getting stuff done. I was in the zone today, enering one invoice after another. Yay me!

Nice!

Today's Beautiful Thing is a new shampoo with the most incredible scent. I haven't enjoyed washing my hair this much in a very long time. :)

Help!

Today's Beautiful Thing is a new set of hands at work. We have a new employee in our department. She seems to be very nice and we're so glad to have her.

Agreement

Today's Beautiful Thing is being married to a guy who shares my views. I love watching political shows with him, screaming at the pundits with him in perfect agreement.

Treat

Today's Beautiful Thing is a free lunch--just in time. I'd waited to eat lunch this afternoon. When they brought around some sandwiches, chips and cookies left over from the board meeting, it was perfect timing. One turkey sandwich and a choc chunk cookie for me. :)

Just Right

Today's Beautiful Thing is finally finding just the right item. We've been shopping for a cabinet and sink for the master bathroom for the last three weekends. We've gone back and forth from wanting something something simple and affordable, to something unique and splurge-worthy--and everything in between. Today we decided to go with simple and save our money to do some high-impact tile (room is very small) and two new gorgeous medicine cabinets (one for each bathroom) as well. We are happy withour decision and have saved a lot of money by making it. :)

Naptime

Today's Beautiful Thing is a Saturday afternoon nap. I worked early again today and a nap was exactly what I needed. :)

Sweet Girl

Today's Beautiful Thing is our sweet Lulu. She had surgery again and it ended up being pretty major. The doctor won't even give her pain meds because he wants her to feel pain and not do what hurts. Poor baby is just as sweet as ever, even though she is quite obviously hurting. I love my Bully Girl. (Pictured: Silly Lulu trying to find her own "crate" since Ace has one and she doesn't.)

Zingers

Today's Beautiful Thing is a little chocolate Zinger. The hubby picked up a box the last time we went to the store. I haven't had one in years! I have fond memories of the raspberry coconut flavor, but chocolate is very good too. :)

Productivity

Today's Beautiful Thing is setting a goal and getting stuff done! I love being productive. Tomorrow I can start on this week's work. Yeah! :)

Support

Today's Beautiful Thing is a husband and friends who listen to me whine. I've been kinda stressed out today, but knowing there are people who care makes all the difference in the world.

Rain, Rain, Rain

Today's Beautiful Thing is a rainy February day. We get so little of it here in sunny So CA, it's always welcome. :)

Clean

Today's Beautiful Thing is a free car wash. The dealer started doing them again and even added Sundays too! We have two shiny cars now. :)

Day One

Today's Beautiful Thing is my first day of class. I found both a parking space and my classroom easily and my teacher seems very nice. I'm looking forward to learning some new things. Yay!

Catch o' the Day

Today's Beautiful Thing is a plate of hot fish and chips at the pier on a chilly, drizzly Sunday afternoon. We chatted with the fishermen as they fished the aqua sea, fed the seagulls & pigeons, and saw the biggest pelican ever! What a nice day.

Warm

Today's Beautiful Thing is a hot, upside down, non-fat, caramel macchiato on a rainy Saturday morning. I was all warm and ready to work after my first sip. Yum!

He's Back!

Today's Beautiful Thing is our wonderful vet. He had shoulder surgery in December and is finally back in the office and seeing furry patients. Ace & Lulu had an appointment today. Looks like Lulu will need knee surgery again (no surprise) so we scheduled that. (It might be just an adjustment, so that won't be too bad.) Ace doesn't need surgery (thank God) just more rest and the occasional meds if he strains his back again. We all feel so much better now that Dr. C is back.

Playing

Today's Beautiful Thing is playing with a new friend. Today a character came to me in bits and pieces. I am having fun getting to know her and figuring out what her story is. One thing I do know is that she has an English Bulldog. A bigger version of little Bubba pictured here. (A mini Bulldog we almost rescued but he didn't get along with Lulu). I can't wait to see what she tells me in the days and weeks ahead.

Old Favorites

Today's Beautiful Thing is rereading one of my favorite books, the Saving Graces by Patricia Gaffney. I adore this story, these characters. Someday, I hope to write a novel 1/10th as good. If I can do that, I'll consider myself a success.

Today's Beautiful Thing is laughter. After a long, tiring day, there's nothing better than coming home to a man who makes me laugh. I just love my guy.
(Pictured: The man of whom I speak, makes our niece laugh on a regular basis as well. Looks like she takes after him, eh?)

Connecting

Today's Beautiful Thing is reconnecting with friends. We're planning a get-together. I miss my girls! :)

King & Queen of the World!

Today's Beautiful Thing is the quiet restaurants and stores and light traffic on Superbowl Sunday. The hubby and I don't watch, so we enjoy going places on this day, when we get great service and don't have to fight the crowds. :)
