Today's Beautiful Thing is leftovers. I'm so glad I didn't have to cook an entire meal from scratch. I had extra time to straighten my hair for my Thursday appointment at the beauty salon. :)

Quiet Day

Today's Beautiful Thing is a quiet day at work. I got a lot of work done while my poor officemate was at home sick, but I hope she feels better tomorrow. :(

A Novel Idea!

Today's Beautiful Thing is watching the first 7 episodes of True Blood while I did my Sunday chores. I cleaned the kitchen, washed and folded five loads of laundry, and a few other things all while enjoying Sookie & her friends. Thanks to J for lending the DVDs to me. :)

Shopping Helper

Pizza Man...He Delivers!

Today's Beautiful Thing is my very own pizza man! I took a nap after work and the hubby woke me up just in time to watch the show I wanted to see and eat a fresh pizza he's picked up while I'd been snoozing. Am I a lucky girl or what? :)

New Kitchen "Jewelry"

Today's Beautiful Thing is a new faucet for the kitchen. We got a great deal on it too. It's going to look smashing with our new black granite sink. Woo Hoo!

Modern Family

Today's Beautiful Thing is 2 episodes of Modern Family back to back. Abner and I laughed until our sides hurt. :)

Mentor

Today's Beautiful Thing is my weekly visit with my mentor. I'm feeling much better and the best is yet to come. Yeah!

A New Week

Today's Beautiful Thing is a brand new week. Another chance for a fresh start and to get things done. :)

New & Improved

Today's Beautiful Thing is spending the weekend shopping with the hubby. We are doing a mini makeover of our back bathroom as well as making a few changes in our front bathroom and kitchen when we get our copper repipe. It's really great to be married to someone who has the same taste as I do. We both fell in love with our new kitchen sink & faucet and shower stall. :)

Trustworthy

Today's Beautiful Thing is having a plumber you can trust. We know our guy is giving us a great deal and he will do quality work. It's wonderful to know we can leave him alone in our house and he will treat it as if it were his own. :)

Teamwork

Today's Beautiful Thing is teamwork. Hubby and I spent the evening getting the house ready for the plumber tomorrow. We got so much done!

Caring

Today's Beautiful Thing is having a dentist who truly cares about his patients. We were so lucky to get his name from Abner's coworker. :)

Squeaky Clean!

Today's Beautiful Thing is a clean little Frenchie after his Selsan Blue bath. Acey loves his baths.

TV With the Hubby

Today's Beautiful Thing is watching two episodes of NCIS with the hubby. We were feeling lazy and we enjoyed ourselves. :)

Cook's Helper

Today's Beautiful Thing is Saturday night's leftovers. We had fajitas at Don Jose and were smart enough to wrap up our leftover onion, green pepper, red pepper mixture. All I had to do was brown some chicken breasts, cut them in strips and cook them in a pan with the fajita veggies. I was able to get two more nights of yummy fajitas out of the deal! Yeah! They were so good!

Our Golden Pond

Today's Beautiful Thing is buying 6 new large goldfish for our back yard pond. We also bought a dozen smaller goldfish for our smaller pond. They looked so happy when we let them out of the bag and into their pretty new home. :)

New Tax Credit

Today's Beautiful Thing is Obama's additional $800.00 tax credit. Every year we pay more in taxes even though we both file married with 0 deductions & increase our federal and state witholdings. Thanks to this additional tax credit, we're getting a fair amount--like what we used to get under Clinton. I can't imagine getting back $800 less. Only once did we get back less than $400 (we had to PAY) under Bush 41. I don't understand people who say Republicans lower taxes. It's never been the case for us!

Open for Business

Today's Beautiful Thing is a favorite local restaurant that's finally opened its doors again after months of remodeling! We were worried it was closed for good, but it turns out the original owner's son bought it from the second owner. It was nice to see him again!

Project Management

Today's Beautiful Thing is getting all my work done yesterday afternoon--before it was expected! It was lovely to have free time today to work on a project that I haven't had time for. Yeah!

Guardian Angel

Today's Beautiful Thing is my Grandma Sally. Today is her birthday and I thought about her all day. I was very lucky to have her in my life as many years as I did, but I still miss her. Please watch out for me, my Godmother and beautiful Guardian Angel. I love you. xoxo...

Shaking Things Up

Today's Beautiful Thing is having dinner with friends on a worknight. We hardly ever do that, but it was really fun.

Hippity-Hoppity

Today's Beautiful Thing is celebrating Easter with family. I had so much fun with my in-laws, my niece, and finally got to see (and cuddle) my new nephew. It was a fun day.

Baking

Today's Beautiful Thing is baking. This simple act has been one of the ways people have shown love for one another for centuries. I baked my nephew (and Godson's) favorite carrot cake to celebrate his 18th birthday. He always appreciates it. :)

Grateful

Today's Beautiful Thing is realizing I have more than most people do, and being grateful for it. We took a long drive this afternoon and it's really windy out. I felt sorry for the people I saw who had to walk on this windy, dusty day. My sinuses were going crazy. I am lucky.

Self Directed

Today's Beautiful Thing is having a job where I manage my own time. I've had jobs in the past with micro-managers or schedules that required me to do certain things at certain times, all day long, and both drive me batty. I'm so fortunate not to have to deal with that any more. I love my job and my supervisor.

Molly & McGee

Today's Beautiful Thing is Molly's family. As of today, Molly & McGee have three owlets and two eggs left to hatch. I've been enjoying watching them on a livecam. You can too. Go HERE.

Healthy Fare

Today's Beautiful Thing is healthy home cooking. We had chicken breasts, grilled veggies and potatoes tonight--all low fat and oh so good! Nom!

Light At the End of the Tunnel

Today's Beautiful Thing is finally feeling better. Hubby's been sick for the last three weeks (off and on) and, while I haven't gotten sick, I've been feeling yucky. Today I've felt better than I have all last week. Hopefully I'll feel even better tomorrow.

Being Together

Today's Beautiful Thing is having health insurance. We are blessed to be able to go to Kaiser whenever we need to. Some people aren't as lucky as we are.

Today's Beautiful Thing is finding out that I am so near-sighted that I probably won't need reading glasses for another 10 or 15 years. Yeah! :)

St. Patrick's Day Birthdays

Today's Beautiful Thing is my cousin Karen and my beloved Akita Kilroy. St Patrick's Day is their birthday and that makes me smile. I haven't seen Karen for a while, but I hope to see her again soon. I miss Kilroy a little bit every day. See you in heaven someday, boy. <3

Follow-Up

Today's Beautiful Thing is having my follow-up appointment with my doctor today. Hopefully, the new medicine she prescribes will get rid of my migraines.
