Grateful

Today's Beautiful Thing is realizing I have more than most people do, and being grateful for it. We took a long drive this afternoon and it's really windy out. I felt sorry for the people I saw who had to walk on this windy, dusty day. My sinuses were going crazy. I am lucky.

Self Directed

Today's Beautiful Thing is having a job where I manage my own time. I've had jobs in the past with micro-managers or schedules that required me to do certain things at certain times, all day long, and both drive me batty. I'm so fortunate not to have to deal with that any more. I love my job and my supervisor.

Molly & McGee

Today's Beautiful Thing is Molly's family. As of today, Molly & McGee have three owlets and two eggs left to hatch. I've been enjoying watching them on a livecam. You can too. Go HERE.

The Second Day

Today's Beautiful Thing is leftovers. Some things actually taste better the second day! That was the case tonight. Nummy!

Healthy Fare

Today's Beautiful Thing is healthy home cooking. We had chicken breasts, grilled veggies and potatoes tonight--all low fat and oh so good! Nom!

Light At the End of the Tunnel

Today's Beautiful Thing is finally feeling better. Hubby's been sick for the last three weeks (off and on) and, while I haven't gotten sick, I've been feeling yucky. Today I've felt better than I have all last week. Hopefully I'll feel even better tomorrow.

Sleepy-Heads

Today's Beautiful Thing is sleeping all weekend. Sometimes you just gotta get a lot of extra sleep to feel better!

Being Together

Today's Beautiful Thing is just being together. Hubby and I stayed home all day. It was nice.

Health Insurance

Today's Beautiful Thing is having health insurance. We are blessed to be able to go to Kaiser whenever we need to. Some people aren't as lucky as we are.

Seeing is Believing

Today's Beautiful Thing is finding out that I am so near-sighted that I probably won't need reading glasses for another 10 or 15 years. Yeah! :)

St. Patrick's Day Birthdays

Today's Beautiful Thing is my cousin Karen and my beloved Akita Kilroy. St Patrick's Day is their birthday and that makes me smile. I haven't seen Karen for a while, but I hope to see her again soon. I miss Kilroy a little bit every day. See you in heaven someday, boy. <3

A Timely Find

Today's Beautiful Thing is finding an old green sweater I didn't realize I still had. Just in time for St Paddy's Day tomorrow! Yeah!

Follow-Up

Today's Beautiful Thing is having my follow-up appointment with my doctor today. Hopefully, the new medicine she prescribes will get rid of my migraines.

Welcoming Gavin

Today's Beautiful Thing is a baby shower for my cousin Kristin. She got everything she needs today. Gavin can come any time now. :)

Today's Beautiful Thing is going to the grocery store on an early Sunday morning. I love to beat the crowds and I feel like I accomplished something already when I get it over with before breakfast. :)

Calendar Fun

Today's Beautiful Thing is the calendar my brother & sister-in-law gave us for Christmas. Each month has a group of family photos--some sweet, some silly--and it makes me smile every time a look at it. This month's includes a photo of my hubby holding an ugly-faced doll (making the same ugly face), but I'm including a pic of my husband and our little doll, making a very cute face. :)

Month-End

Today's Beautiful Thing is finishing up last month's accounting duties. The boss wanted it done by 2 PM and it was done by 2 PM. Woo hoo! Go us!

Today's Beautiful Thing is a new episode of Grey's Anatomy. :)

Homework

Today's Beautiful Thing is working from home. It's so nice to be able to catch up on my work in my home office instead of having to get up at 4:30 AM to do it at work. :)

Crunchy

Today's Beautiful Thing is Chex Mix. My mom used to make it for parties when I was a kid, but the various bagged varieties are a good low calorie/low fat snack. I'm quite fond of cheddar flavor. I don't usually like fake cheese flavored crackers and things, but they are really good. :)

Naps

Today's Beautiful Thing is a nap before dinner. :)
