"Fried" Bologna Sandwiches

Today's Beautiful Thing is "fried" bologna sandwiches. Actually, the bologna isn't really fried, but heated in a skillet. It's technically good old Oscar Mayer Bologna, but it's the 98% fat free kind because I'm on a diet. I guess it doesn't sound all that appealing any more to some of you. :) It was really good though. Two slices of squishy potato bread+ NF mayo + 4 slices of LF Bologna = 300 calories and 4 grams of fat. Heaven for this dieting girl who just had a root canal!

Book Dedication

Today's Beautiful Thing is my friend Chris. She dedicated her second book, An Unladylike Offer, to a few of her friends and I'm one of them. I just smile and smile every time I look at my name on the page. Thank you Chris. :)

Grocery Shopping

Toaday's beautiful Thing is getting my shopping done today instead of my usual Sunday! What will I do with myself tomorrow morning? ;)

Books

Today's Beautiful Thing is a good book. I have a bunch of new ones--and I'm reading them all at once because I have no self control. :)

A good dentist

Today's Beautiful Thing is finding a good dentist. Two actually. Last week I went to a new dentist who referred me to an endodontist to get my old root canal re-done. The endodontist is who I saw today. What a great guy! And when this is all over, I get to go back to the new dentist for my regular check-ups and such. I feel so lucky to have these two thorough and gentle dentists as my new team. :)

Today's beautiful Thing is receiving a call from the hubby telling me he's bringing home dinner. Thanks!

Today's Beautiful Thing is a good night's rest. Off to bed now. So tired!

Today's Beautiful Thing is people continuing to wish me a happy birthday today. I've adopted the idea of "birthday week" the last few years (one day really isn't long enough) and it's fun when the good wishes continue to trickle in.

Lifeline

Today's Beautiful Thing is Jude (AKA Comrade Cherry). She set up a blog for everyone at the RWA National Conference. Last year this blog was my lifeline. (All my friends were there and I was not.) This year most of my friends stayed home (as did I), but I still greedily check Jude's Blog two or three times a day for all the National Happenings. Thanks for being so thoughtful, Jude. Even though she's not even there this year, she's still Blogging National.

Today's Beautiful Thing is marriage. Kari and Rob tied the knot on 07-07-07, the luckiest day of the century! They are fortunate to be lucky in love and their family was lucky enough to witness the beauty of it. :)
