In honor of Atticus, a beautiful Boxer boy whose time with us was much too short.
This is my attempt to find something Beautiful in every single day. If a scarred and abused dog could fearlessly wag his tail and smile at strangers hoping to make friends, surely I can find one thing Beautifully noteworthy to write about daily in his honor. Historic
Today's Beautiful Thing is making history. Today, the Democratic party officially nominated the first African American as our candidate for president. I'm intensely moved by the importance of it. Go Obama & Biden!
It's amazing, isn't it? 50 years ago, Blacks in this country were considered second-class citizens, and now one of them is probably going to be our next president.

We've come sooooo far, and that's a good thing.
