Today's Beautiful Thing is being allowed to call in sick. While whatever is wrong with me doesn't feel so beautiful, the freedom of being able to call in sick is. I had a job for 10 years where you had to be half-dead in order to call in sick, and even then they questioned it. I am fortunate to work for this wonderful company and to have such caring supervisors.
